The Ghana-China Business Chamber of Commerce has donated 50 modern student desks to Achimota Senior High School to help address the school’s furniture deficit.
The donation, led by the Chamber’s Chairman, Liu Wen Min, is intended to replace old and dilapidated desks that have negatively impacted teaching and learning in the school.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony held on the school’s premises last Monday, Mr Wen Min described the gesture as part of the Chamber’s corporate social responsibility to support education.
He noted that he was personally moved by the poor condition of some of the school’s furniture, prompting discussions within the Chamber to provide assistance.
“After a few enquiries and consultations with the Chamber, we decided to help acquire these state-of-the-art desks for the school,” he said.
Receiving the donation, the Headmaster of Achimota Senior High School, Ebenezer Graham Acquaah, expressed appreciation to the Chamber and its Chairman for the support.
He assured the donors that the desks would be put to good use and appealed for further assistance in other areas of need within the school.
