Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has pledged his support for the establishment of a vocational and technical school in the Santrokofi Traditional Area following an appeal from chiefs and elders during a courtesy call.
The traditional leaders highlighted the absence of a senior high school in the area, noting that students often travel long distances to access secondary education. They argued that a technical and vocational institution would provide practical skills training and improve employment opportunities for young people in the community.
Responding to the request, Bagbin reaffirmed the importance of expanding educational infrastructure and access across the country. He assured the delegation that he would support efforts to make the proposed school a reality, stressing that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) remains critical to Ghana’s development agenda and youth empowerment.
Community leaders and residents have welcomed the Speaker’s commitment, expressing optimism that the proposed school will enhance access to quality education, equip young people with employable skills, and contribute to local development.
