The Students’ Representative Council of the University of Media, Arts and Communication has secured a strategic partnership with KEBER Limited to provide practical benefits and new opportunities for students during the 2025/2026 academic year.
The partnership, facilitated through the Office of External Affairs, forms part of the Kouyo-Miciah administration’s commitment to pursuing innovative collaborations that improve student welfare, promote industry engagement and enhance the overall student experience.
A key component of the partnership is the introduction of affordable ride options for UniMAC students through KEBER’s mobility platform. The initiative is expected to provide students with safer, more convenient and cost-effective transportation options, while helping to address commuting challenges across and beyond campus.
Beyond transportation support, the partnership will also provide students with access to five laptops, which will be distributed through a transparent and fair selection process. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a promotional campaign for a chance to win GH¢1,000 in cash and an additional laptop.
The agreement further introduces a UniMAC referral programme and other engagement incentives aimed at rewarding active student participation. KEBER-branded merchandise, including T-shirts and stickers, will also be distributed on campus, while a Top User Award will recognise students who actively engage with the platform.
As part of the collaboration, KEBER will be integrated into selected SRC Week activities through sponsorships, activations and student-centred engagements designed to make the celebrations more rewarding and impactful.
Speaking on the partnership, the SRC said the agreement reflects the administration’s commitment to building strategic industry relationships that deliver measurable benefits to students and prepare them for opportunities beyond the university environment.
The Council commended the External Affairs Officer, Alex Kobina Stone, for his instrumental role in securing the partnership. According to the SRC, his leadership, strategic engagement and negotiations with KEBER Limited were critical to the successful conclusion of the agreement.
The SRC noted that Mr. Stone’s commitment to fostering meaningful corporate relationships aligns with the vision of the Kouyo-Miciah administration to build sustainable partnerships that improve student welfare and create lasting value for the university community.
The Council further expressed appreciation for his dedication and proactive approach throughout the engagement process, describing his work as a demonstration of the critical role of the Office of External Affairs in advancing the interests of students and expanding opportunities for the UniMAC community.
The Kouyo-Miciah administration reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing strategic partnerships that place students at the centre of decision-making and deliver tangible outcomes that improve student life.
With benefits ranging from educational support and cash rewards to affordable transportation solutions and enhanced campus experiences, the partnership with KEBER marks another significant milestone in the SRC’s efforts to enhance student welfare and create opportunities for the UniMAC community.
The agreement reinforces the administration’s resolve to continue seeking innovative partnerships that empower students, strengthen industry-academia collaboration and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of UniMAC.
