Nestlé Ghana and ECOM Ghana have commissioned two new school infrastructure projects in the Adarkwa and Akroma communities to improve access to quality education in cocoa-growing areas. The projects include modern classroom blocks equipped with offices, storerooms, toilet facilities and access to clean drinking water.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Managing Director of Nestlé Ghana, Salome Azevedo, said the initiative forms part of the company’s commitment to creating safe and conducive learning environments for children. She noted that the company had already handed over four schools in the Ashanti Region and is undertaking additional educational projects across the country.
Community leaders and school authorities praised the intervention, saying the previous school structures were dilapidated and negatively affected teaching, learning and pupil enrolment. They expressed optimism that the new facilities would improve attendance, academic performance and overall educational outcomes in the beneficiary communities.
