Technical universities in Ghana have been urged to redesign their curricula, teaching methods and research focus to align with the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and industry.
Speaking at the Seventh Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture Series at Ho Technical University, Rector of Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ron S. J. Tuninga, said AI presents both opportunities and challenges, making it necessary for institutions to equip students with skills such as critical thinking, creativity, ethical reasoning and lifelong learning.
He called on technical universities to embrace multidisciplinary education, strengthen industry collaboration, integrate AI-related competencies into academic programmes and develop innovation-driven research ecosystems to improve graduate employability and national competitiveness.
