The University of Media, Arts and Communication has temporarily moved lectures online from Wednesday, July 1, to Sunday, July 5, 2026, following heavy rains and flooding in Accra.
In a memorandum issued by the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, management said the decision was informed by recent flooding on Monday, June 29, and a weather advisory from the Ghana Meteorological Agency forecasting further heavy rains and thunderstorms.
The university said the move is intended to protect students, lecturers, and staff while ensuring academic work continues. Face-to-face lectures are expected to resume on Monday, July 6, unless management communicates otherwise.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Winston Kwame Abroampa, thanked lecturers for their cooperation and urged the university community to remain cautious and safe.
