Five students of Central University have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) over their alleged involvement in the production and sale of cannabis-infused products during SRC Week activities on campus.
According to preliminary investigations, the students—reported to be in Levels 100, 300, and 400—were allegedly producing and selling cannabis-infused ice cream, sobolo, toffees, pepper, and eggs, in addition to dealing in raw cannabis. Authorities seized suspected substances for forensic examination.
In response to the incident, Central University has suspended all remaining SRC Week activities and is cooperating with NACOC and other relevant authorities as investigations continue. The university stated that it is seeking verified information and has urged the public to avoid speculation while due process takes its course.
NACOC says the arrested students remain in custody assisting with investigations, as authorities work to determine the full scope of the alleged operation and identify any additional persons connected to the case.
