Gad Asante wins Best Player award at Copa Coca-Cola Ghana 2026

East Airport International School’s rising football star, Gad Asante, has been crowned Best Player of the maiden edition of the Copa Coca-Cola Ghana 2026 tournament after an outstanding campaign that saw him score 21 goals.

Gad played a pivotal role in helping East Airport International School emerge champions of the competition, which featured eight schools from across Accra and marked the first-ever edition of the tournament in Ghana.

The competition, organised by Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company, brought together schools including Ghana International School, Alpha Beta, Faith Montessori, International Community School and Lycée Français International Jacques Prévert d’Accra in a celebration of youth football, leadership and community spirit.

Gad Asante quickly became one of the standout performers of the tournament with his pace, creativity and clinical finishing. His remarkable tally of 21 goals made him the top attacking force in the competition and earned him the tournament’s Best Player award.

East Airport International School capped off their impressive run by winning the tournament title, completing a memorable debut edition for both the school and the competition.

The maiden Copa Coca-Cola Ghana tournament was launched by ECCBC Ghana as part of efforts to promote youth development and create opportunities for young football talents through sports. Organisers have already expressed ambitions of expanding the competition into a nationwide event in future editions.
