The University of Cape Coast (UCC) emerged as overall champions of the 9th Mini Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games after winning 21 gold, 18 silver, and 11 bronze medals during the competition hosted by the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
UCC’s dominant performance placed the university at the top of the medal table ahead of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), which finished second with 15 gold medals.

The tournament, held from May 5 to May 15, 2026, brought together 16 tertiary institutions to compete in several sporting disciplines including athletics, football, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, and basketball.
The successful hosting of the games by UPSA was widely praised, with the event promoting sportsmanship, unity, and academic professionalism among participating universities.
