    KNUST law graduate dies after reported cardiac arrest during Ghana’s World Cup match

    Sara Araba Tettey, a 26-year-old lawyer and alumna of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has reportedly passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest while celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama in their opening FIFA World Cup match.

    According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Standard Hostel in Bomso, near the KNUST campus in Kumasi, where she was watching the game with friends. Witnesses said she suddenly collapsed shortly after the final whistle.
    She was rushed for medical attention but was later pronounced dead.

    The news has sparked an outpouring of grief among colleagues, friends, and members of the KNUST community, who have paid tribute to her achievements and impact.

    Authorities are yet to officially comment on the circumstances surrounding her death, while family and loved ones mourn her untimely passing.
